Kalmar Reach Stacker Employee Appreciation

How the idea came about.

With an order placed for 12 identical Kalmar 44t reach stackers at a price close to $12 million a decision was made to give these machines which we rely heavily on to turn containers around in our yards and keep the trucks moving identities which are more than just a fleet number.

The decision was then made to name each of the stackers in order of employee tenure within that State forming a correlation between equipment we rely on and staff that have contributed so much to the business.

As a result we now have reach stackers in the fleet which will be know as the employee they are named after for the duration of the machines operation which will range from 4 to 7 years.

“Tenni”

A Big Shout Out to Nick Tenni, Our Brisbane Operations Manager!

We’re thrilled to announce that our new reach stacker is named in honor of Nick Tenni, the first-ever Arrow employee. Nick has been a driving force behind our success, from managing operations to unpacking shipments, and leading all operational divisions across the three eastern states. His dedication and hard work have been instrumental in building Brisbane to its current success.

Nick embodies the “can do” attitude that defines Arrow, and his 13 years of unwavering commitment inspire us all. Thank you, Nick, for everything you do!

“Rusty”

We’re excited to introduce our newest Kalmar Reach Stacker, proudly named “Rusty” in honour of Russell “Rusty” Thomas, Arrow’s longest-serving driver.

Rusty joined Arrow Transport Logistics & Quarantine Services 12 years ago after the closure of the Toyota Altona Manufacturing plant. Known for his early morning starts and playful grumbling, Rusty is the epitome of reliability. Our fleet team consistently trusts him with early morning drop trailer or live unload jobs, confident that he will always deliver for our customers.

Thank you, Russell, for your dedication and hard work. We appreciate you!

“Alf”

Another new Kalmar Reach Stacker enters Arrow’s National Fleet named after another long-term employee ‘Alf Latu’ 🙏🏼

Alf joined us in 2013 following a call from Heather McIntyre from IMEX Shipping in Sydney regarding amazing people, Alf and his wife Vivian, who were moving to Melbourne “and we just had to employ them.”

We met Alf, his big smile, infectious laugh and the rest is now part of Arrow History.

Starting as our CFS/Yard supervisor in the early days running our unpacks in Victoria and LCL loading and unloading, Alf now enjoys his time working as part of our Contract Logistics team as part of our Freedenberg Household Products 3PL contract.

We appreciate you Alf.

“Viv”

Introducing to the fleet our newest Kalmar Reach Stacker “Viv”, which joins a growing fleet serving Perth.

“Viv” named after Vivian Latu, our 11 year, extremely valued employee, who is also a proud member of the Arrow Diamond Club.

Viv joined us in 2013 following a 2 for 1 deal from Heather McIntyre from IMEX Shipping as the pair moved there family to Melbourne.

Starting in reception and general administration, Viv has since covered customer interfacing roles in CFS, Quarantine, and where most people have come to know and love her Customer Service for our Transport teams.

Viv with her big smile is always ready for a good time and is front and centre at any staff event.

We appreciate and thank you for all you do Viv.

“Mujee”

Introducing our newest Kalmar Reach Stacker into the Melbourne fleet named – “Mujee”.

Mujee started with Arrow Transport in Melbourne as a Semi Driver back in 2014 with minimal experience as a container transport driver.

Arrow gave him an opportunity which he took with both hands and since that day, has never looked back.

Starting in a single drive prime-mover, Mujee worked on empty container dehires in and a round Melbourne, then moved into trailer drop and swaps, proving very reliable with the early morning critical first up drops, and recently has moved into driving A-Doubles and Super B’s.

Speaking his own langue known as “Mujee Speak”, to date he remains one of Arrow’s most reliable and productive drivers and always has an infectious smile on his face.

A true example of what has helped Arrow grow its customer base to where it is today.

Thank you Mujee.

“Trevor”

Introducing our latest Kalmar Reach Stacker to join the fleet in Brisbane – “Trevor”.

Trevor is one of the original team members in Brisbane who 4 years ago paved the way for the many that followed, and the business that we have in Brisbane today.

Having taken the leap of faith as the first Arrow Brisbane nightshift allocator and driver all in one, Trevor has been a jack-of-all-trades, leaving his mark on several corners of our operations.

Along with Trevor’s capability across our operations you can always count on him for his quick wit and his hilarious one-liners.

Trevor’s positive spirit, versatility across roles, and unwavering commitment to help our growth in Brisbane have been invaluable assets throughout the years.

Join us in expressing appreciation for Trevor as we recognise his contribution to our Brisbane operation as his name is immortalised on our brand-new Kalmar reach stacker, or at least while we have it.

Thanks Trev!

“Brad”

We welcome to the Brisbane fleet our new Kalmar Reach Stacker named “Brad” after Brad Jones.

Brad was our first employee in Brisbane 2019 running our fleet, customer service, billing and driver recruitment.

As the business in Brisbane rapidly grew, Brad moved more into a back office role, then fulltime on the development of our in house operating system and customer portal – AOS.

Brad now works as a key member of our 8 strong IT team and is an asset to our business and the industry in so many ways.

As along as we can keep him out of the Queensland heat, we look forward to what existing system upgrades and developments Brad releases in the coming months.

Thanks Brad!

“Alex”

Introducing our latest addition, Kalmar Reach Stacker #9 – “Alex,” named in honour of our long-serving employee, Alex Zolotar.

This is the second new machine added to our NSW site in Sydney’s West, Chullora.

Alex, affectionately known as “Flash,” joined Sydney Side Loaders in 2013 and transitioned to Arrow Transport when the business was acquired in 2018.

Alex a reliable, polite and hard-working employee has always upheld the company’s commitment to servicing our customers and is a pleasure to all that work with him.

Thanks Alex!
