Arrow Take On Another Additional Depot
Due to peak seasonal demand and our continued growth, Arrow have now taken on another additional depot on Toll Road to accommodate our customer requirements, bringing the current number to three. Depot 1 is our main container site for our transport operations. Steel unpacks, along with 3PL warehousing, rural tailgate facility and quarantine washbay.
Depot 2 caters for empty containers for our wharf runs along with overflow space. The additional warehouse is for customer specific project requirements within the commercial construction industry sector.
Depot three is currently used for truck and trailer parking requirements.

Arrow Fumigates Worlds Largest Metal Shear
After collecting the worlds largest Genesis metal cutting shear from the wharf for one of our freight forwarders, it was fumigated in our yard and then transported to the end customer where they assembled the shear with the other parts of the machine, weighing in at a hefty 320 tonnes. This machine is preparing to take down Port Augusta’s disused power station.

Additional Depot Site Works Have Commenced
March 3rd 2017
Construction has started on our second depot located conveniently across the road from our current site. Due to growing customer demands, expansion to a second location was the natural progression to accommodate our valued customers needs.
Scraping works have been completed and the area is now being laid out for the concrete hardstand. The works are being carried out by Pelligra.
This additional new facility will incorporate a warehouse and storage, office space and hardstand for truck and trailer parking. This new facility now gives us an additional 10,228 m2 to work with. We will also have our own on site fuel tank to fill up our trucks closer to home, saving valuable time sitting at the service stations around town.
Once again it is another exciting time for Arrow with our ever growing fleet of Mercedes Benz Actors Trucks, Super B Double and A Double trailers, combination rigid truck all being operational and now a new facility.
ARROW NOW OFFERING RURAL TAILGATES
Complementing our facility offering Dairy Accreditation, 77G Underbond Services, Machine Wash and a large FCL Transport fleet, Arrow have now opened up to the market its latest offering, RURAL TAILGATES.
Based in Altona, Arrow has the first facility in Victoria offering Rural Tailgate facilities outside the traditional “Waterfront” precinct.
Our decision to invest in the new tailgate facility was brought about by the sheer number of containers we were delivering to rural destinations in both sideloader, semi and more recently 40’/40’ A-Double combinations.
Our aim is to offer our existing customer base a true end to end service, providing accurate delivery windows to rural destinations by controlling turn around times in our own yard. With the facility working extremely well, the management team with the support of DAFF are now extending this service to external carriers.
Arrow confirmed, DAFF have committed officers on-site between 7.30 a.m and 12 p.m Monday to Friday, with a decision on extended hours to be driven by demand.
It is our long-term plan to open the facility as early as 5.30 a.m, offering country carriers the ability to get in and out of Melbourne prior to having to battle peak-hour traffic. By turning them around within 30 minutes, this ensures we do not impact further on their already challenging driving hours.
To avoid any delays at the new tailgate facility at 96-118 Toll Drive Altona North, we encourage transporters to call or email ahead at least the day prior.
